Autopoesis

Autopoesis

The World is more vast, strange and mysterious than we could ever comprehend. What is really going on outside our personal experience of perception? Even as we reflect, forming the words to say precisely what is... that is to say, "What it is exactly is not a word... is it?" Like the good book says, "In the beginning was the word..." In other words, before the story begins we are wordless to say what came before... and why is that? Before a story begins is the sense-ability to simply be present and silent. The word for this is sentience; the nature of embodiment, presence and awareness is what happens to sensate beings uncomplicated by words endlessly strung along a linear narrative of talk, talk, talk.

The Human World is not as vast, strange or mysterious as we are lead to believe. What is really going on inside our personal, shared experiences? Yes, personal and shared because, in order, to have an experience, two or more participants are required; a seer and the seen, a hearer and the heard, a feeler and the felt, a smeller... well, you get the idea; a subject and an object. Even as we watch, informed by a mass media saying precisely what is... for what it is exactly is a group consensus on the publicly shared means of mass transport known as language. Like the good book says, "In the beginning..." In other words it said, Bereishit, written in Hebrew letters no-less, which translates as head or roughly in English as the head (of the line) or The Header in a line of information placed at the top of a page for purposes of identification, "...and the word was God." That is the Gospel According to John worded in Greek and so began Christianity's division from Judaism. The word for this is autopoesis.

It has been suggested that some institutions emerge from arcane conversations to become autonomous, self-creating from their internal interactions, self-organising and self-defining of their own boundaries and thus autopoietic, acquiring a 'life of their own' and having as their main "purpose" their own self-perpetuation (Robb 1991).

The Corporate World is more ignorant and intolerant than we could ever apprehend and clearly the poster child for our collective shadow of individually shirked responsibilities. Is it no wonder we spin words like bears-shit (spelled bereishit) until there is no more ground left but where we stand, where we live and wage a perpetual state of economic wordfare. Be careful what one says and deliberate on what one hears. The time to act is always now and how is the manner of one's imagination, how one comports one's self re-creating on the field of infinitely possible wordplays. Here the events at play focus onto the sensed presence of a point being made a verb; connecting subject to object in the space of a pregnant pause.

Listen in silent thought as today's word defines a world intolerant of Nature's sentience.

Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice

Yule time's myth-conception springs from the old Anglo-Saxon "yula" wheel and refers to the common sense approach we terrestrials experience as being at the hub of a Galactic spin on all things geocentric. From one's point-of-view, "I AM" is the center of the universe and why not?

Being is an affirmation; not-being is a negation of the childhood exuberance found by being, innocently unaware of the sheer enormity of all that is not. How can you not be, anyway? For instance, you have occasionally not been present, haven't you? Not really. What you have been is not present. See how the use of language and meaning can entangle us in a labyrinth of amazingly circular convolutions? Don't take my word for it, but by example consider the following...

"I AM a liar." If this is true, then it is not to be believed and if it is a lie, then it is true and contradicts itself. The point being, words are strung along the linear narrative of a sentence until the point is made (.) Whereas certain lines reach a point, others have an amusing way for the object to refer back to the subject and a semantic calamity breaks out into a free-for-all or freefall from common sense. The homeland is not secure and the rules of grammar are of no help figuring out what it means, let alone the implications. Instead, we choose to ignore the 'wheel-ality' of this conundrum and slip into the coping strategy of a more innocent, Anglo-Saxon Yule time and dream of sugar plums dancing in our heads.

Meanwhile, the opposition is currently conspiring in the Southern Hemisphere to celebrate the Summer Solstice. Where is the truth in any of this? Is there one fundamental truth as the Republican Administration of true believers would have US accept or is there a plurality of truths as the Democratic consensus of ideological novelties would wish US to believe? The answer my friend is blowing smoke up our backside, because it is predetermined by whatever meaning one chooses to draw forth in the melee of social constructions designed to uncover the facts of life on a global scale. We reside on a spinning sphere with no sides, where the present, at any given moment, is different from every point-of-view. Go figure?
